Sturges Motorsports Running Strong!!

(September 16th, 2008)

Several weeks have passed since our last update and the Sturges Motorsports team has enjoyed great success including a tour for Outlaw Monster Trucks, our big hometown Tournament of Destruction event and the big Tijuana Monster Trucks Showdown in Mexico this past weekend. Let’s get you up to date on everything we’ve been up to!

July 19th - Show Low, AZ – After a nice weekend off following the big Del Mar event, Sturges Motorsports embarked on a three-week, four-show Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular tour. The first stop would be near home at Thunder Raceway in Show Low, AZ where the trucks would compete in a three round, freestyle-only event. Ronnie Sturges in Nasty Boy and Gary Schott Jr. in Unnamed & Untamed were both on fire as they took on McGruff and Terminator. In a rare occurrence, this event saw a father versus son battle as Gary Schott Jr. would be competing against dad Gary Schott Sr. in his new Terminator machine. Unnamed & Untamed won the first round of freestyle and the Sturges team sent the fans home happy, freestyling together and taking a shared victory in the final round.

July 26th – Aberdeen, SD – From there it was off to South Dakota where Ronnie and Gary would be facing off against Wildfire Motorsports at Aberdeen’s Brown County Speedway. The night started off well as Ronnie took the first round of freestyle, but Rob French and Twisted Dragon would get the nod in the final two rounds. Two shows down, three to go. During the down time, the young guns were busy keeping the monsters in top condition and doing pre-maintenance before heading to Colorado to finish out the tour.

July 31st – Brighton, CO – The first stop in Colorado would be at the Brighton County Fairgrounds just outside of Denver for a small Thursday night fair show. The team would be competing against good friend Don Frankish and his two trucks, Maniac and Jurassic Attack. Gary Schott Jr. must not have liked getting shut out of the winner’s circle the previous week, as he was on fire sweeping all three rounds of freestyle.

August 2nd – Colorado Springs, CO – From Brighton, it was down to the beautiful Colorado Springs area for another show Maniac and Jurassic Attack at the Norris-Penrose Events Center. Nasty Boy and Unnamed & Untamed pulled off another great dual freestyle in the final round to the delight of the fans.

August 9th – Greely, CO – The final stop on the five-week Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular tour would be in Greely, CO at the local rodeo arena. The Sturges young guns were feeling the wear and tear from weeks of fast food, lots of miles, and some hard work. This weekend would see Ronnie and Gary taking on two of Don King's monsters, Bearfoot and The General. The Sturges team ended their trip on a high note, sweeping all three rounds with Ronnie grabbing the first in Nasty Boy and Gary bringing home the final two in Unnamed & Untamed.

August 23rd – Odessa, TX – After a week to get the trucks back in top condition after a long trip, it was off to Odessa, TX to compete in the AMP Tour Monster Truck Thunder Slam event at the Ector County Coliseum. This event would consist of a sky wheelie contest, straight line racing and freestyle. Sam was back behind the wheel of Unnamed & Untamed as he and Ronnie competed against Twisted Dragon, Redneck Barbie and Crash Master, the old War Wagon recently purchased from Andy Hoffman. Sam grabbed the most vertical time in the wheelie contest but no winner was announced. Sam continued running strong in racing going to the finals and bringing home a runner-up finish. Both trucks did a nice job in freestyle, but the win would go to the hometown Crash Master team.

August 30th-31st – Tucson, AZ – Labor Day weekend saw Sturges Motorsports competing in their hometown of Tucson in Dale Penn’s final Tournament of Destruction event of 2008. Sam and Ronnie would be running against follow Tucson native Murph McCrorey in McGruff and veteran Jack Koberna in Tuff Enuff. Saturday would see a big sweep for Sam Sturges in Unnamed & Untamed, as he won both racing competitions and freestyle in a rare, rain-soaked event. It was a heck of a night for Sam and he had permanent smile on his face all night. Peggy Sturges was giving rides in the Boogie Monster R/T to all who wanted one until the rains came. Sunday was a rough night for drivers, trucks, staff and everyone involved as the rains came much harder in a place where there is very little rain. The track was extremely muddy and even flooded in some areas. Chicago-style racing was cancelled and the show would be straight line and freestyle only. Sam was one of the only trucks to get much in the way of wheelies going in the wet conditions, but the win would go to Jack Koberna in Tuff Enuff as he pulled off a great, muddy donut during his run. All in all, it was another great hometown weekend for the Sturges team as there is nothing like getting to perform in front of friends and family.

September 13th – Tijuana, Mexico – After a nice week off, the team headed south of the border for the big Monster Trucks Showdown at Estadio Calimax in Tijuana, Mexico. Being invited to participate in the Pro 3 Entertainment events in Mexico is an honor, as they bring the heavy hitters in to show the Mexico fans what monster trucks are all about. This weekend Ronnie and Gary in Unnamed would be taking on top trucks including Bounty Hunter, Iron Outlaw, Obsession, Deal Breaker, Natural High and McGruff. The racing course would be tough with some tight turns and the Sturges trucks went down in the first round. Freestyle however would see both Ronnie and Gary put forth strong runs with including some wild wheelies. There would end up being no single winner of freestyle as Bounty Hunter and Iron Outlaw finished the night with a dual freestyle. It was another great weekend in Mexico with Pro 3 Entertainment and the Sturges team looks forward to returning for Monster Trucks Showdown events in Monterrey and Hermosillo later this year.

Stay tuned to the site for continued updates as Sturges Motorsports plans to finish out 2008 strong this fall!!

Hometown Show & More!!

(June 30th, 2008)

Sturges Motorsports has stayed very busy over the last few weeks, with events from Tucson to San Bernardino. We've had some great times, put on some good shows, and enjoyed the company of friends and fans along the way. Here's a recap of what we've been up to:

May 17th - Lake Havasu, AZ - After a couple weeks off, we were back on the road in beautiful Lake Havasu. Ronnie carried the Sturges Motorsports banner high in the one-night only Monster Truck Thunder Slam at Havasu 95 Speedway, driving Nasty Boy to a clean sweep of the evening's competition, from straight line and Chicago-style racing to freestyle. Sam helped run the show while giving Rich Rutledge an opportunity to pilot Unnamed & Untamed for the first time. Rich did a fine job for his first outing. The Boogie Monster was also on hand giving fans a first hand experience of riding in a real monster truck. The line for rides out on the Speedway were long, but the Boogie Monster stayed until every fan who wanted a ride got one. Check out video from the event below courtesy of our friends at TheMonsterBlog.com:

June 14th-15th - Tucson, AZ - During another couple weeks off to help catch up on projects around the shop, excitement built for the second hometown show of the year over at the Rodeo Grounds in Tucson. Dale Penn always puts on a great Tournament of Destruction event, and the Sturges team would be going head to head with fellow hometown-er McGruff and Gary Schott's new Terminator machine. Friday night started off with, what we thought was a win for Ronnie and Nasty Boy in straight line racing, but a called red light handed the win to McGruff. Chicago-style racing was up next and Sam beat Ronnie in the semi-finals, but Unnamed & Untamed would fall to McGruff in the final round. Freestyle was all Nasty Boy despite a solid run from Unnamed, as Ronnie walked the truck up and down the track to the delight of the fans. Saturday would see Ronnie capitalize on his second chance at straight line racing, beating McGruff in a photo finish. The two trucks would meet again in the finals of Chicago-style and you could feel the tension as both drivers were determined to win. Ronnie was on the gas hard and launched Nasty Boy skyward--but on the landing, the left front wheel hit a wheelie bump causing the truck to pitch violently up on right side tires. Ronnie put the petal to the metal and pulled off a great save, bringing Nasty Boy back to all fours after being all the way up on the sidewalls. He may not have won the race, but his save definitely was the move of the night. Looking to close the show on a high note, Sam and Ronnie roared to the track together in freestyle, putting on a great dual run with both trucks pulling off some big wheelies to the delight of the hometown fans. Check out video of Ronnie's great save below courtesy of Bobbi Davis, see TheMonsterBlog.com site for footage of the whole show.

June 21st - Lancaster, CA - A tour of California was up next and the first stop would be for the Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, CA. The Sturges team welcomed back Gary Schott Jr., who returns to the wheel of Unnamed & Untamed while the team is in California. In an event featuring rounds of freestyle only, both Ronnie and Gary put forth strong runs. To cap it all off, they teamed up for another tandem freestyle run which the crowd loved--see video of the run below, courtesy of YouTube. On to San Bernardino.

June 28th - San Bernardino, CA - The Orange Showgrounds would be the site for another one-night only Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular event. Despite strong runs from Gary and Ronnie in the first two rounds of freestyle, they were topped by Natural High and Obsession for the win. So what did they do for round three?  You guessed it. Another crowd-pleasing tandem freestyle. It just doesn't get much cooler than Nasty Boy and Unnamed & Untamed wheelie-ing down the track in opposite directions. And so closed another show on a high note for Sturges Motorsports.

Next up is one of the biggest events of the year for the Sturges team. The huge San Diego County Fair in Del Mar for WGAS Motorsports. Nasty Boy and Unnamed & Untamed will take on an impressive field of competitors over several days of competition including Bounty Hunter, Rock Star, Iron Outlaw, Deal Breaker, Obsession, Play'N 4 Keeps and Natural High. Be sure to come check us out, see www.WGASMotorsports.com for more information.

Sturges Motorsports is also very proud to announce another new sponsor as Fuel Safe has come on board. As Fuel Safe says: "Our on-going research and development is constantly discovering new and improved ways to make our products stronger, lighter and safer.” Please check out their website at www.FuelSafe.com to learn more about a company filled with history and a great lineup of racing products. We are so happy to have them onboard and look forward to a great relationship in the future.

Stay tuned for more photos and video, and keep an eye out for our new website that is currently in development. We'll see you soon!!

Sturges Motorsports Update!!

(May 15th, 2008)

Sturges Motorsports faced some stiff competition at Firebird International Raceway. Present for that event were Sudden Impact, T-Maxx, Bigfoot, Iron Outlaw, Bounty Hunter & Q Torque Power. Some MT’s competed in a Wheelie Contest or Donut Contest, then one run at Freestyle each day. Ronnie Sturges really wowed the crowd during his Freestyle Saturday night and came away with a perfect score in the Wheelie Contest. His Sunday performance was cut short with a broken rear end.

Sam received an award for the Monster Blogs 2007 Move of the Year. Ross Bonar of the Monster Blog was on hand to present this award to Sam.

Fans may have noticed the new AMSOIL logo’s on Nasty Boy & Unnamed & Untamed this weekend. AMSOIL is now an official sponsor for Sturges Motorsports.

Peggy Sturges was on the other side of the grounds with the Boogie Monster. With the Boogie Monster being so close to home, fans were able to get a ride at a very reasonable rate. Fans were also able to purchase the new Boogie Monster T-shirts.

As recently as this past weekend Sturges Motor Sports received some reports of false information about our team on individual My Space Accounts. We just want to let our fans know that any news regarding our team will be reported on this site or The Monster Blog only.

Saturday April 19th in Indio CA, Sturges Motor Sports competed at a Steve Quercio event. It was a one day event featuring Freestyle only. The competing Monster Trucks took three turns each with Sam Sturges in Unnamed & Untamed taking the middle event and Ronnie Sturges in Nasty Boy taking the 1st & 3rd events. Very good evening as Sam stopped in Phoenix, picked up two of his Grand Children and took them along.

Unnamed & Untamed, Nasty Boy along with the Boogie Monster will be in Havasu Saturday May 17th. The event will take place at the Havasu 95 speedway. Hope to see you there!!

Sturges Motorsports Update!!

(April 18th, 2008)

The Mad Trax Tank has been traded to Sudden Impact Racing. Sam Sturges and Brandon Lagrade came to an agreement for Mad Trax recently while Sturges Motorsports was in Lousiana working on a project. Bookings for Mad Trax can now be made by contacting www.SuddenImpact.com.

More good news from this meeting includes an AMSOIL sponsorship for Sturges Motorsports. AMSOIL & Brandon Lagrade have initiated a new Associate Sponsorship Program of which Sturges Motorsports are the second and newest members. The sponsorship is a separate deal from the Mad Trax trade. Be looking for the AMSOIL logo on Unnamed & Untamed along with Nasty Boy very soon, possibly this weekend in Indio.

In other news, TheMonsterBlog.com will be in Phoenix for the Firebird International Speedway event April 26th & 27th. Most Sturges Motorsports fans will remember last year at Firebird when Sam did a complete 360 on his rear wheels. That move won Sam Sturges the Move of the Year award for 2007 from The Monster Blog. Ross will be making the trip to present Sam this award.

The Boogie Monster will not be in Indio as announced earlier; however the Boogie Monster will be giving rides at Firebird next weekend. Please don’t forget to stop by and say hello!!

Sturges Motorsports Update!!

(April 13th, 2008)

It has been a few weeks since we have reported any news, however the other weekend at Tucson AZ was very interesting. Sturges Motorsports competed against some very tough competition against Maniac & Jurassic Attack.

Sam was on a roll as he took straight line racing Friday night and Chicago Style Saturday night. Speaking of being on a roll, he did just that in Saturday Freestyle. Going over a van stack Unnamed & Untamed went over. After finally having the body fixed from Indio and freshly painted, there will be more work to do.

A freestyle winner was not declared either night, but with the competition all having short runs & mechanical problems, it seems that Nasty Boy took freestyle easily on Saturday night.

The Boogie Monster was on hand giving rides as always at Dale Penn’s Tucson show. The Boogie Monster will also be back in action at Indio, CA this weekend, come on out and take a ride at the upcoming AMP event.

A bit more news to announce as Justin “The Fease” Feaser resigned stating personal reasons as the cause. We sure appreciate The Fease’s contributions and wish him well.

So if you are near Indio this weekend, stop in and say hello, maybe even take a ride on the Boogie Monster.

Sturges Motorsports Update!!

(February 26th, 2008)

It has been a few weeks since we have reported any news, however this last weekend at Indio, CA was a very interesting one. Sturges Motorsports competed against some very tough competition in a freestyle-only event.

This WGAS Motorsports event included: Playn' for Keeps, TNT, Rock Star, Goin' For Broke, Hog Wild, Sheer Insanity, and Deal Breaker, with Nasty Boy & Unnamed & Untamed of course.

Justin “The Fease” Feaser aired Unnamed & Untamed out a little too much, hitting hard and causing some damage. Sam Sturges said all repairs will be made and Unnamed & Untamed will be as good as new by the end of the week.

Nasty Boy also lost a wheel over the weekend, but had it fixed with no loss of time on the track. Ronnie “Nasty Boy” Sturges put up some very good wheelies at each event and The Fease gained more seat time learning a very valuable lesson.

Sam and the boys are going to take a break for a couple weeks. Sam wants to get some work done on the big trucks and finish some projects before the Tournament of Destruction invades the Tucson Rodeo Grounds. Until then, everyone take care & hope to see you in Tucson soon!!

Sturges Motorsports El Paso, TX Recap!!

(February 3rd, 2008)

Sturges Motorsports put forth a strong effort in El Paso, Texas last weekend. Competing against Bigfoot 16, Wild Mann, Tuff E Nuff, Monster Moose and Public Disturbance, the young guns had there hands full at El Paso County Coliseum.

Once again Sam let the boys do it on their own, as he stayed back home. Ronnie “Nasty Boy” Sturges made the finals Friday night against Bigfoot, but was unable to make the race due to a loose rotor cap. The Fease gained more valuable seat time as he and Ronnie put up very impressive performances during freestyle. A special thanks to Rocky Koberna with the Tuff E Nuff team for this week's news photo.

Sturges Motorsports, as of this writing, is off the next couple of weeks before traveling to Indio, CA for a WGAS Extreme Sports Spectacular event. On February 15th at the Riverside Fairgrounds you will be able to see Nasty Boy and Unnamed & Untamed in action. Hope we see you there!

Sturges Motorsports Aztec, NM Recap!!

(January 24th, 2008)

Sturges Motorsports had a great weekend in Aztec, NM at McGee Memorial Park this past weekend competing against Tuff Enuff, Bigfoot 16, & Wildmann in racing, wheelie and freestyle competitions. Sam Sturges was on hand Saturday night with his Mad Trax tank performing a car flip. Sam put on a great performance flipping the car backwards over the tank much to the delight of the crowd.

Ronnie “Nasty Boy” Sturges was on a roll taking racing both nights along with the wheelie contest on Friday. The big surprise was Justin “The Fease” Feaser taking freestyle over some very tough competition on Saturday night. This was The Fease’s first Freestyle victory and he now can add to his resume that he beat a Bigfoot in Freestyle. There was some confusion as to who won freestyle Friday night as the announcer neglected to mention the winner. But AMP CEO Scott Hart confirmed to Ronnie that he had indeed swept all three events the previous night.

After a very cold, but successful weekend in Aztec, the Sturges team headed back down to Tucson, but not before Sam let the boys know how proud he was of their performance. A special thanks goes out to Rocky Koberna for the great photo of Justin in Unnamed from this past weekend in Aztec!!  Thank you all for reading and hope to see you at our next event in this weekend in El Paso, TX!!

Sturges Motorsports Vegas Recap!!

(January 16th, 2008)

Ronnie “Nasty Boy” Sturges & Justin “The Fease” Feaser were off to Las Vegas this past weekend, spending the week prior doing displays and biding their time waiting to compete in the Extreme Monster Truck Nationals event at South Point Hotel & Casino.

The Extreme Monster Truck Nationals was a 3 day, 4 show event including a Saturday afternoon matinee. After waiting all week, Nasty Boy and Unnamed & Untamed had to compete against Ghost Ryder, Equalizer, Ragin' Rebel and Hot Tamale. There was no racing this weekend, but each event featured a Wheelie Contest, Donut Contest & Freestyle.

The boss, Sam Sturges, was missed by the young guns this weekend as Sam did not make the trip to Vegas. Missing his guidance, Nasty Boy & The Fease still done very well especially in the wheelie contests. Both drivers put up nice wheelies all weekend with the highlight coming during the Saturday matinee. There was a winner by applause and a tie between Unnamed & Untamed and Ghost Ryder. The cheer-off was called in Ghost Ryder's favor, but it sounded very close and could have went either way.

That's a wrap from the weekend in Vegas, but be sure to stop by the Photos section as we now have our gallery up from the Salt Lake City TNT event. Thanks to Lauren and TheMonsterBlog.com for the photos.

This weekend the Sturges team will be in Aztec, NM for a Friday & Saturday evening AMP Tour Monster Truck Thunder Slam event. Nasty Boy & Unnamed & Untamed will be taking on Bigfoot, Tuff Enuff and more at the McGee Memorial Coliseum. If that is not enough to get you to Aztec for this event, then this should be the decider. Sam Sturges in his Mad Trax tank will be making an appearance!!  Hope to see you all there!!

Sturges Motorsports Salt Lake City Recap!!

(January 8th, 2008)

This past weekend we were in Salt Lake City, UT for a TNT Monsters event. This was a three-event weekend with a Saturday matinee that would see Nasty Boy and Unnamed & Untamed competing against Tuff E Nuff, Maverik Monster Trakker, and Blue “Shattered” Lightning.

Ronnie “Nasty Boy” Sturges and "The Fease" in Unnamed & Untamed competed well all weekend with the final event Saturday evening bringing it all together. Ronnie met Justin in the racing final taking the racing victory. This was the first final for The Fease, he did well taking second as the Sturges Motorsports took 1-2 in racing.

The Friday night event The Fease had some problems in the Wheelie contest, but after some guidance from Sam Sturges and a pep talk from Ronnie, Justin “The Fease” Feaser took his first ever victory in the Saturday matinee event.

Sturges Motorsports are now on the way to Las Vegas for the upcoming Jim Morris event this weekend at the South Point Hotel & Casino. They will be doing a couple displays this week, along with minor maintenance on the trucks. Looking forward to seeing all of our fans at the show!

Sturges Motorsports Ready For 2008 Season!!

(January 2nd, 2008)

Everyone with the Sturges Motorsports team had a very nice holiday season and wishes all of our fans a Happy New Year. It is time to go back to work,  and Ronnie & "The Fease" are on their way to Salt Lake City, UT for a TNT Monsters event, while Sam will be joining them on Friday. The following weekend the team will be in Las Vegas for a Jim Morris event, and then its onto Aztec, NM for an AMP event. Be sure to stop and say hello. We have put up pictures from the Laughlin event, please take time to check them out in the Media Gallery. Keep an eye for updates from this weekend's event!

Sturges Motorsports Laughlin, NV Recap!!

(December 11th, 2007)

The Sturges team headed out to Laughlin, NV Saturday, December 8th to participate in the first monster truck event at the Mojave Crossing Event Center for AMP Live Events. It was a freestyle-only competition with three rounds total. Ronnie Sturges in Nasty Boy & Justin “The Fease” Feaser were competing against Obsession and Natural High. Nasty Boy had breakage in the first round, but came back the next two rounds to wow the crowd with wheelies and big hits on the van stack. "The Fease" continued to improve his monster truck driving skills as he put up a nice wheelie, got some good air along with some other nice hits.

Sam & Peggy Sturges had the Boogie Monster ride truck on hand giving lots of rides and stayed very busy during the pit party and intermission, as well as after the event. Sam was doing double duty as he was also playing teacher and supervisor to Ronnie and Justin. The young guns know when they do something to Sam’s disapproval as the look on Sam’s face tells them all they need to know--but that doesn't happen too often!. All and all great weekend for the Sturges team.

With the holiday season upon us, the Sturges Motorsports family would like to wish all of our fans and their families a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Everyone have a safe holiday season and we'll see you next year!!

Another young gun has been hired to assist with daily duties and drive part time. Justin “The Fease” Feaser has driven in a few events to date, to include Bakersfield where he put up some very nice wheelies.

Indio, CA & Yuma, AZ - October 13th and October 19th-20th were events in Indio, CA and Yuma, AZ where the Sturges team competed against Natural High & McGruff with three rounds of freestyle at each event. Ronnie and Nasty Boy manage to pick up a freestyle victory at each event.

Juarez, Mexico - October 27th was a wild and exciting time as the Sturges team was competing against Rock Star & Play'n 4 Keeps in Juarez, Mexico. See you all out on the road, be sure to stop and say hello!

Sturges Team Takes On Show Low, AZ

(July 26th, 2007)

Last weekend was the Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular in Show Low, AZ at Thunder Raceway. Gary would be behind the wheel of Unnamed once again, and he & Ronnie rocked the house Friday night with greats runs in each round of freestyle. Ultimately it was Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter taking the win, but when Creten did not feel well enough to drive on Saturday, who was it taking the wheel of Bounty Hunter?  Sam Sturges!  In rainy, muddy conditions Saturday the drivers struggled for traction but still managed to put on a good show for the Show Low fans.

Our good friends Lauren & Lynette Bonar with TheMonsterBlog.com were on hand for the show, be sure to check out some of Lauren's great pictures in our Photos section. Also, click here to view a highlight video from the weekend featuring Gary and Ronnie in action. This weekend its off to Denver!!

Sturges Team Dominates In Lubbock!!

(June 26th, 2007)

The Sturges team has been busy the past month with three consecutive weekends in California for AMP Live Events and Outlaw Monster Trucks, and another Outlaw show this past weekend in Lubbock, TX!!  Sam is taking a bit of break from driving now, with Gary Schott Jr. behind the wheel of Unnamed beginning with Ukiah, CA at the beginning of the month. Ronnie and Gary have been doing a great job this month, culminating by sweeping the Lubbock event!!  Ronnie took the first two rounds of freestyle Friday night, while Gary took the third, as well as all three wins Saturday!!

Rocky Koberna was kind enough to send over some photos from the Lubbock event, which can now be seen in out Photos section. Next we're off to Del Mar, CA for the WGAS Motorsports Spectacular at the San Diego County Fair--we'll see you there!!

Mexicali and Lake Havusu City!!

(May 16th, 2006)

The team headed down to Mexicali, Mexico for the Cinco de Mayo Monster Trucks Showdown event, and put on a great show in front of over 20,000 fans!!  Ronnie in Nasty Boy took third place in freestyle with a run that many say could have won the contest. The whole trip was great fun and we look forward to our next trip to Mexico.

This past weekend saw the team travel just up the road to Lake Havusu City for a show at Havusu 95 Speedway. Ronnie took the win in the first round of freestyle before suffering some breakage, and Sam showed the crowd a great time in Unnamed & Untamed all night.

Photos and video to come from the Mexicali show, and Firebird is still coming as well. Stay tuned!!

Sturges Motorsports Rocks Firebird Raceway!!

(May 1st 2006)

The yearly monster truck events at Firebird International Raceway are some of the Sturges team's favorite events as it gives Sam and Ronnie a chance to compete against some of the sport's biggest names. This year Unnamed & Untamed and Nasty Boy would go up against ten trucks including Maximum Destruction, Bigfoot, Bounty Hunter, Iron Outlaw, and King Krunch!

Saturday night would see big success for the Sturges team as both Sam and Ronnie made it to the final round of freestyle. Only six trucks advanced to the final round and Sturges Motorsports was the only team to get both trucks in based on great performances by Sam and Ronnie. Sam would ultimately take runner-up to Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction, but Unnamed would be the truck everyone walked away talking about. Sam pulled off an amazing move, doing a complete 360 on the tailgate and still managed to save the truck!!

Check out the video by clicking here!

Sunday would see all the trucks in action again, competing in wheelie, donut, and freestyle contests. Ronnie in Nasty Boy pulled off some great wheelies, actually setting the truck up on the wheelie bar with both rear tires off the ground!  Sam would pick up the wheelie contest victory, and both trucks put on great shows all day long.

This coming weekend the team will be in Mexicali, Mexico for the Monster Trucks Showdown competing against another stellar field of trucks. Photos and video from Firebird coming soon, and be watching for an update after we return from Mexicali. In the meantime, be sure to click the link below to get ordering information on our T-Shirts and Hero Cards!!  Thanks for visiting!!

Sturges Team Performs For Hometown Crowd!!

(April 24th, 2006)

UPDATE: Photo and video from the show are now on the site!!  Check them out in our Media Gallery!!

One of the team's favorite events each year is the Tournament of Destruction. Why?  Because it's just on the other side of town!  The Sturges team was part of the lineup for this past weekend's event at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds, and brought it to the competition in freestyle with their usual mix of wheelies and high-powered action. Racing would see some runner-up finishes for Sam and Ronnie in the straight line and chase competitions.

The year has really started to heat up for the Sturges team. The month of March was jam-packed with stops in Baja, Mexico, Victorville and San Bernardino, CA, and Laughlin, NV, all for Steve Quercio. Next week is another stop in California, this time for the Outlaw Monster Truck Spectacular in Watsonville. The end of the month is the big Monster Truck Jammin' Nationals at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix where the Sturges team will take on Bigfoot, Maximum Destruction, Bounty Hunter, and many more of the sport's best.

Full photo gallery and video clips from the Tucson event coming later this week, so keep checking back!!

Sturges Motorsports AMP-ing It Up In Texas!!

(January 22nd, 2006)

Sam and Ronnie headed down to Texas for two AMP Live Events shows in San Angelo and El Paso the past two weekends. The trip started off great, with Ronnie taking the Friday racing victory in San Angelo over Bobby Holman in the Beast. Sam piloted Unnamed to a runner-up in freestyle that night as well. Saturday would see axel breakage for Ronnie, but Sam would make the racing finals, losing to Beast, but then putting on a good freestyle for the Texas fans.
El Paso would give the Sturges team that chance to take on the famous big Blue Ford, as Keith Sturgeon and Bigfoot would be headlining the show. All trucks in attendance were on their game over the weekend, but Ronnie managed to break through with a big racing victory Saturday night over Bigfoot!!
We've got a few more shows coming up, so be watching the Schedule for an update soon--however, we do still have dates available so contact us now to book Sam & Ronnie to rock your next show!!
